Nach dem Abitur studierte sie am Benesh Institute in London und schloss dort ab als „Associate of the Institute of Choreology“.
1993 engagierte Uwe Scholz sie als Choreologin ans Leipziger Ballett, wo sie viele seiner Werke notierte und einstudierte.
Seit 1997 hat Uwe Scholz sie mit den Einstudierungen seiner Choreografien an wichtigen internationalen Compagnien betraut.
Einladungen zu Publikumsveranstaltungen zum Thema Choreologie führten sie an die Leipziger Hochschule für Musik und Theater „Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy“, ans Leipziger Tanzarchiv und an die Theater in Nürnberg, Gera und Graz.
Ab dem 1. Januar 2026 übernimmt sie auch sämtliche Nutzungs-und Lizensierungsrechte am Gesamtwerk von Uwe Scholz.
Sie widmet sich schon jetzt der Bewahrung und Aufführung des choreographischen Erbes von Uwe Scholz.
Compagnien oder Einzelpersonen, die ab dem 1. Januar 2026 eines von Uwe Scholz‘ Werken oder einen Auszug davon aufführen oder vorführen möchten, sind verpflichtet, die Erlaubnis der Eigentümerin einholen.

... received her ballet training at the John Cranko School, Stuttgart.
During this time, she became also interested in Benesh Movement Notation.
After her A-levels, she entered the Benesh Institute in London, from which she graduated as Associate of the Institute of Choreology (AI Chor).
In 1993, Uwe Scholz engaged her as choreologist for the Leipzig ballet, where she recorded and reconstructed many of his works.
Since 1997, Uwe Scholz also entrusted her with the restaging of his works at major international companies.
In 2001, she proceeded to work on a freelance basis.
Amongst others, she has worked with the Stuttgart Ballet, in Berlin, Paris, Zurich, Rio de Janeiro, Milan, Beijing, in Japan as well as in Australia.
The Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse has invited her repeatedly to teach repertoire/ master classes.
She was also invited to hold lectures about choreology at the Leipzig university of music and theatre „Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy“, the Leipzig dance archive and theatres in Nurenberg, Gera and Graz.
Tatjana Thierbach has been the heir and owner of the moral rights of Uwe Scholz since 2020.
From January 1, 2026, she will also take over all rights of use and licensing rights to Uwe Scholz's complete works.
She is already dedicated to the preservation and performance of Uwe Scholz's choreographic legacy.
Its aim is to carry his vision and creativity into the future and to inspire a wide audience for his musicality and the art of dance.
Companies or individuals who wish to perform or present one of Uwe Scholz's works or an excerpt thereof from January 1, 2026 onwards are required to obtain permission from the owner.
